How to share Installed Applications (with Root access)

We have discussed on how to share applications when you don't have root access on your phone. There is almost no limitation to what you can do on a Rooted Android device, from tweaking to customizing and more.

When you install applications directly from Playstore, copies of apk files can only be found in a system-root-level folder on your device's storage, you will not be able to access these files if you do not have root permission in the event you want to share any with friends. If your have rooted your smart phone and you wish to share an application(s) that you have downloaded from an app store like Google Playstore, then this post should be helpful.
Please: You are encouraged not to share paid-apps, as this might be considered an offence.

How to

  1. On a rooted device, Get a third-party file explorer (stock file explorer app won't work)
  2. open the app and navigate to the system-root folder (on solid explorer, you only need to press the 'back' button twice)
  3. click on the "Data" folder and grant superuser permission to the file-explorer app when prompted to
  4. In the "app" folder, you should find the apk files of most of the apps that you have installed
  5. select the app(s) you wish to share and click the share button.

voila

If you did not find the app you wish to share in the "data/app/" directory, then navigate from system-root to "mnt/asec/".
