Easy Fix for a Freezing and/or Restarting Phone

Without the knowledge of the cause of such malfunctioning, it is difficult for smart phone users to carry out quick and easy fixes to these problems

There many issues that can be a malfunction, but malfunction in the context of this post will be 'periodic/conditional freezing and restarting of a smart phone'

Quick point:

Unless a smart phone device is defective from manufacturer (that is, shipped bad), there's
limited reasons for a malfunction.

What could be Cause?

Hardware failure: Common cause of hardware failure is the mishandling of your smart phone and exposing it to harsh conditions (like those already listed in your Phone manual).
Software failure: Could be caused by bugs, or incompatibility issues (like those experienced after Phone software updates).

Lets see Others

If your problem is not part of those mention above (e.g mishandling), then try the following.

Check Your Battery:
In the case you are not using the battery that your phone was packed with, then you should consider getting a new and original battery from your Phone manufacturer or some other trusted phone accessories dealer (be certain its for your phone type). You might still consider changing your original in-box battery if you have been using it for long.

Your Charger
If you've been using some other charger not the original, you should probably replace that. Constructed chargers may also destroy your device's hardware components over time. Be sure to charge your device with original manufacturer's charger.

Other accessories and attachments
Do not connect incompatible attachments to your smart phone device (you already know this).

RAM
some times when you run an application or applications that consume more memory than available on your smart phone, the system might have difficulties in closing this app, this ultimately causes a freeze and/or restart.

Application Incompatibility
This means that if you have installed an incompatible application on your device, it may cause a freeze -even when the application is not running in the foreground.

On a final note (Tips)

  • Take note of things like; when your phone restarts, how often it freezes, what you do when it malfunctions. this will help in the troubleshooting process.
  • Discontinue immediately the use of accessories that are not the original, because the hardware components in your device have certain voltage and current limits for them to perform optimally and stay healthy.
  • Before carrying out updates, be sure to read feedbacks and reviews about the updates so you don't end up with a malfunctioning Phone.
  • Tweaking and Hacking of hardware components (e.g overclocking) is not advisable for novices, be sure you know what you are doing before going ahead with these processes.
