How to Backup your Android in four(4) easy steps

A device backup is easy to have but the method employed entirely depends on the level you want to backup to or the main purpose of having a backup.

I recently helped a friend Update his Android device's firmware, because there were no potential risks involved and it was a routine task for me, I only needed to do the basic device backup.

Installing the update firmware required a device wipe (Factory reset), the following needed to be backed up.

1. Apps (He had 82 apps installed)
2. App Data (only for SuperUsers)
3. Contacts (though Google had that backed-up)
4. Messages/sms
5. Calendar entries
6. Browser Bookmarks
7. Call Log/History
8. Apn Profiles

I was very suprised he was not aware he could backup so much and conceeded to losing all that...Wow!

Don't be like my friend, here's how to Backup your device by your self

NOTE: Not everyone can rely on Cloud backups (Requires Internet connectivity every time you need to Backup or Restore) See tips on how to save internet Data

1. Get Go Backup and install to your device, Go Pro if you want more features like Cloud Backup.

2. Upon App launch, navigate to >>New/Restore Backup, Select 'Batch backup'

3. Check the desired items you wish to backup and select 'Start Backup' when ready

4. When backup is complete, Exit

To be sure you don't lose your backup in the event of a theft or Phone loss/Sdcard damage, do the following

Your Backup is likely to be stored in your Device's internal Storage/memory

1. Connect your device to your PC using appropriate USB cable as a Storage Media

2. Open your device's Internal Storage Drive and locate the folder 'GoBackup'

3. Copy this folder and paste in a safe location on your PC's storage or another External storage media.
